Revanth Reddy: Revanth will determine the fate of “retd” officials who remain in their positions.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has focused on officers who have been working in the same department even after their retirement through reappointment, contract, or outsourcing basis after removing political appointees of the previous BRS government, particularly corporation chairpersons and advisors. The state government has chosen to fire “rehabilitated” cops without providing a good cause to keep them on staff.

Regardless of the source of payment or remuneration in the secretariat and heads of the department offices, corporations, and boards, chief secretary A Santhi Kumari on Tuesday asked all special chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries, and special secretaries of the secretariat departments to furnish information regarding reappointments. These individuals are working in the departments after their reappointment or on a contract or outsourcing basis. The deadline for responding to this request is Wednesday evening.Soon, CM Revanth Reddy is probably going to call these policemen who have been rehabilitated.

According to official sources, the BRS administration has appointed or retained a large number of officers in various government ministries throughout the last ten years, and they have been carrying out their tasks in the same capacity—chief among them.

Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy was recently requested by irrigation engineers to remove retired officers because they were impeding their promotions. For example, even after retiring, C. Muralidhar has remained in his position as chief irrigation engineer for the past five years. While V Anil Kumar, an IAS officer, has been serving as endowment commissioner and managing the civil supplies department until last month, Adhar Sinha, one of the officers, was reappointed as special chief secretary in the animal husbandry department. Similar circumstances exist in a number of departments, including autonomous departments like GHMC and roads and buildings. The government has recently removed a number of retired officers who were employed by HMDA.

Following his return from Davos in the coming days, the CM is probably going to answer calls regarding these appointments.
