Release of a special postal cover honoring Telangana’s Bhadrachalam Seetharama shrine

HYDERABAD  JAN  29     : The Telangana Postal Circle celebrated the centuries-old and revered Sree Seetarama temple (also known as Dakshin Ayodhya), Bhadrachalam in Telangana, by releasing a special postal cover.

Telangana is about to release a commemorative postal cover with Lord Ram on it, making it the second state in the country to do so. Prior to this, on January 22, at Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled commemorative postal stamps (CPS) honoring the well-known Ram temple.

Devusinh Jesinghbhai Chauhan, the Minister of State for Communication, released the special cover on Sunday during an event at Dak Sadan in Hyderabad.About 300 kilometers from Hyderabad, on the left bank of the Godavari River, is the sacred sanctuary of Bhadrachalam, which is devoted to Lord Rama.

Together with a brochure that provides a brief history of the centuries-old Sree Seetharama Chandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam, the special cover features an artwork of Lord Rama with Seetha sitting and Lakshmana, the image of the Bhadrachalam temple, in the backdrop. The Temple design itself is offered as a cancellation for special postal cancellations.

“The postal department is the second largest government organization after the Indian Railways, which has completed Karmayogi training for more than 4 lakh employees on the Karmayogi Platform,” Union Minister Devusinh Chauhan stated after unveiling the postal cover.

According to the minister, Telangana Circle opened 58 new post offices in the current fiscal year, and the postal agency is currently operating 1.64 lakh post offices nationwide, improving socioeconomic conditions.

A comprehensive brochure and a special cover, priced at Rs 60 and Rs 45 without cancellation, will be on sale starting on Monday at all Telangana head post offices and philatelic bureaus. It will also be available for purchase online starting on February 8.
