Thane, May 6: The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation on Thursday revoked the registration of a hospital in the township following large-scale Covid deaths and the alleged failure of the hospital to follow the Covid treatment protocols, the order said.
The order for cancellation of registration of the Paramhans hospital was issued by Municipal commissioner Dileep Dhole.
The order stated that the above-mentioned hospital was issued notices regarding improvement of the facilities and not following the Covid treatment protocols despite being registered as a Dedicated Covid Hospital just last month.
Also, the hospital management has failed to explain the cause of large-scale Covid deaths there, it said.
Moreover, on May 5, while reviewing the three deaths in the hospital, it was observed that the Covid treatment protocols had not been followed by the hospital and it took the matters casually.
Since the hospital had shown gross negligence in the treatment of Covid patients, the registration of the hospital as the Covid hospital has been cancelled forthwith, the order stated.(UNI)
