Regional parties will be crucial to the creation of the Central government: KCR

HYDERABAD, MAY 14   :    Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao said on Monday that regional parties will come to power at the Centre after the Lok Sabha polls.

As per the polling trends in the earlier three phases and in the ongoing fourth phase polls in the country, the regional parties will play a key role in the formation of the next government at the centre, said KCR.

Talking to reporters after casting his vote along with his wife Shobha in his native Chintamadaka village of Siddipet district, which comes under Medak Lok Sabha constituency, KCR hoped that the polling percentage in the 17 Lok Sabha seats of the State will improve and record 65-70 percent voting.

When asked if he would join hands with the INDIA bloc in days to come, he said “There is nothing like a bloc and now, regional parties will come to power in India.”
“According to the BJP’s own rule, no leader in the party would take up any position after attaining the age of 75 and as per the rules set by the BJP, Mr Modi has to step down. It is up to the BJP people to think,” KCR said.

The BRS, which lost power to Congress in the recent assembly elections in the state, is contesting all 17 Lok Sabha seats on its own.

There is a triangular contest among the ruling congress, BRS and BJP with a total of 525 candidates in the fray.

In the 2019 elections, BRS had won nine seats while BJP bagged four seats. Congress won three and the AIMIM bagged the lone Hyderabad parliamentary seat. (UNI)
