Jamtara, April 19 : Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto on Monday urged Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to direct the hospitals under Railways, Coal and other PSUs to help the state government in its battle against Coronavirus.
Participating in a video conferencing with the Lok Sabha Speaker said that spreading awareness was also very important as majority of the people still lived in the villages who needed to be detailed over the precautions to be adopted against Covid-19.
He said that even today the government has not been able to successfully make the people follow the guidelines therefore a concrete step should be also taken by the government for spreading awareness as if the people will remain unaware it will not be possible to stop the spread of the infection.
Mahto said that concrete efforts are also needed to save those who have been hit by the disease and even those who are still away from it. He also detailed the Speaker regarding the progress of vaccination drive in the state.
However he said that the number of general beds, oxygen supported beds, ICUs, ventilators was very less in the state as compared to the Covid-19 positive patients in the state and there was an urgent need to fill the gaps.(UNI)
