Rajasthan phone tapping case raised in Rajya Sabha
New Delhi, Mar 19 : The alleged phone tapping incident in Rajasthan was on Friday raised in Rajya Sabha which was vehemently opposed by the Congress.
Raising the issue, the BJP lawmaker Bhupender Yadav said that according to Article 21 of the Constitution, no person should be deprived of personal liberty whereas the Telegraph Act also prohibits illegal tapping of the phones of the citizens and demanded protection to such people.
The Congress Members in House strongly protested against the naming of the concerned stakeholders.
At this, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu asked BJP lawmaker not to name any government or blame anybody.
‘No allegation against any government– state or central– or party will go on record, Mr Naidu instructed .
AD Singh of RJD said during the Zero Hour that there was immense pressure on the judiciary in Bihar due to unintended implication of prohibition. “5,600 cases are pending in the HC for bail, and all are related to prohibition,” he said. “Regular cases should not be delayed due to prohibition cases,” he added.(UNI)
