SULTANPUR (UP), JULY 25 :  Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will appear before an MP-MLA court in a defamation case on Friday, a party office-bearer said here.

District president of Congress Abhishek Singh Rana said that Rahul will land at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at Lucknow at 9 am. He said that from there he will reach Sultanpur by road and will appear before the MP-MLA court.

It may be noted that local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Mishra lodged a case against Rahul Gandhi on August 4, 2018 accusing him of making objectionable remarks against the then party president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Bengaluru. The court had granted bail to the Congress leader on February 20.(UNI)
