Punjab: Body of missing boy discovered; uncle detained
Phagwara, July 19 :The Sultanpur Lodhi police traced a brutal murder case of a ten-year-old boy and arrested his uncle Heera Singh and his beloved Rajbir Kaur on charges of murdering the minor boy.The boy had been missing since Monday night.DSP Babandeep Singh said on Wednesday that the dead body of the minor boy was found in the Kali Bein river near a religious place (Peer Gair Gaji) in Sultanpur Lodhi on Tuesday late night.Police said the deceased Karanbir Singh (10), of Baba Jawala Singh Nagar Sultanpur Lodhi, went to Gurdwara on July 17 but did not return home.DSP said Both could be nabbed after a statement by Angrej Singh (father of the deceased boy) who told the police that his brother Heera Singh has a love affair with a widow, Rajbir Kaur, of Jawala Singh Nagar City, Sultanpur Lodhi.He caught them in objectionable conditions many times. In this regard, an argument took place between his wife, Gurpreet Kaur, and Rajbir kaur.At that time, Rajbir Kaur had threatened to teach her a lesson. So he has doubts that Rajbir Kaur has killed his son.He said the police rounded up Rajbir Kaur, who confessed during the preliminary investigation that she and Heera Singh had planned a conspiracy. After which, she took the boy on the pretence of eating jamun, pushed him into the kali bein, and killed him.Police on Wednesday handed over the body of the deceased after the postmortem, he said.(UNI)
