Prior BRS Govt. discontinued Dalit assistance programs: MLA Vemula Veeresham

HYDERABAD, FEB 9   :    MLA Vemula Veeresham from Nakirekal informed the assembly on Friday that the previous BRS government had dismantled Dalit welfare schemes.

Veeresham, who initiated the motion of thanksgiving for the governor’s speech, pledged to expose the faults of the previous government.

Accusing the previous BRS government of deceiving Dalits under the guise of Dalit Bandhu, Veeresham urged humility and criticised their arrogance when in power.

He highlighted the Congress regime’s commitment to the people and accused the BRS of distancing the people of Khammam, Nalgonda, and Palamuru from the party.

Veeresham labeled the Congress as a self-serving party for Dalits, tribals, and minorities, asserting that the BRS government had cheated these communities in the name of reservations.

He emphasised the ten years spent under what he described as dictatorship rule and contrasted it with the perceived sense of freedom under the current regime.

The MLA stated that the Congress government had already implemented two out of the six guarantees from its manifesto, with the remaining guarantees to be fulfilled soon.

He expressed concern over corruption in the last decade, incomplete projects, and irregularities in TSPSC examinations.

Yannam Srinivareddy, supporting the motion of thanksgiving, criticised the BRS leaders for alleged land scams and claimed that the projects initiated during their regime were collapsing.

He also condemned their mockery of free bus travel for women and highlighted the achievements of the Congress regime in constructing Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam Dams.(UNI)
