Prez, VP, PM condole loss of lives of Army personnel in Arunachal
New Delhi, Feb 8 : President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the death of seven Indian Army personnel, who were hit by an avalanche in the high altitude area of Kameng sector in Arunachal Pradesh. Taking to Twitter, the President wrote, “The death of soldiers due to an avalanche in Arunachal Pradesh is a tragedy beyond words. The brave soldiers laid down their lives for the service of the nation. Their selfless sacrifice will always be remembered. My condolences to their families.” “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives of Army personnel who were struck by an avalanche while on a patrol at a high altitude area in Arunachal Pradesh. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Their selfless service to the nation will always be remembered,” the Vice President tweeted. Expressing his grief, the Prime Minister in a tweet wrote, “Saddened by the loss of lives of Indian Army personnel due to an avalanche in Arunachal Pradesh. We will never forget their exemplary service to our nation. Condolences to the bereaved families.” Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also took to Twitter and wrote, “Saddened to know of the death of Army Personnel in avalanche tragedy in Arunachal Pradesh. My deepest condolences to their family and friends. We salute the martyrs.” All the seven Indian Army personnel were hit by the avalanche on Sunday. Their bodies were retrieved from the avalanche on Tuesday. (UNI)
