Puducherry, Sep 24 :The union territory of Puducherry bagged the award for the best performing UT category with the highest percentage of House Holds with at least one Ayushman card.
According to an official release here today, National health Authority, Government of India, on Thursday celebrated Ayushman Bharat Diva as a part of Arogya Manthan 3.0. Arogya Manthan 3.0 is celebration of third anniversary of government of India’s flagship program “Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Manthri Jan Arogya Yojana” (AB -PMJAY).


As a part of Ayushman Divas, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave the ‘Ayushman Utkrishta Puraskaar’ award to the best performing AB PM-JAY States/ UTs for efficient implementation of the scheme. The awards were distributed to the States in various categories.
Under the category of Best performing state/UT, Puducherry grabbed award for best performing
UT with highest percentage House Holds with at least One Ayushman Card. The award was given by the Minister virtually to Dr T Arun , Puducherry health secretary.

The period for considering the award was from October 1 2020 to August 31,2021when Puducherry had 51 % Household with at least one ABPMJAY card during this period. As on 24th September, Puducherry has 84% household with at least one ABPMJAY card.(UNI)
