Police book 111 for traffic violations, 20 for smoking in public in Srinagar
Srinagar, Feb 27:Jammu and Kashmir police challaned 111 persons for traffic violations while 20 persons were booked for smoking in public in Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said that acting tough against the violations of Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) and Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) police conducted day-long operation in the city on Friday.
A total of 111 traffic challans under various sections have been registered.
He further said a totally of 20 challans have been registered against persons smoking in public places and violating the COTPA rules.
He said drive against the violators will continue.(UNI)
