New Delhi, Oct 20 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various other leaders greeted the people on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti today.

In a message on Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “I bow in reverence to Maharishi Valmiki on the special occasion of Valmiki Jayanti. We recall his seminal contributions towards chronicling our rich past and glorious culture. His emphasis on social empowerment keeps inspiring us,”

Union Home Minister Amit shah also congratulated the people on Valmiki Jayanti. “Maharishi Valmiki ji created the holy Ramayana and paved the way for religion for the welfare of the entire human race. The education and thoughts of Maharishi Valmiki ji, a symbol of harmony , inspire us to create a prosperous and proud society” he tweeted.

BJP President JP Nadda in a message, said, “Lord Shri Ram is adored by all of us. Maharishi Valmiki ji has paved the way for human welfare by taking the message of social harmony, equality and justice of the Lord to the people through the creation of the epic Ramayana. Tributes to Adikavi Maharishi Valmiki ji on his birth anniversary.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended his wishes to the people.

“Heartiest congratulations on the birth anniversary of Adi poet Maharishi Valmiki ji”, he tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi also flagged off Shobha Yatra from the party headquarters on Wednesday, New Delhi, to mark Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.(UNI)
