PM, Rahul, other leaders wish Manmohan Singh on his birthday
New Delhi, Sep 26 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other leaders today extended their greetings to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the occasion of his 89th birthday.
Conveying his best wishes to his predecessor, Modi in a tweet wrote, “Birthday greetings to our former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Ji. I pray for his long life and wonderful health.”
“Warm wishes to former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh Ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and long life,” Defence Minister Rajnath Sing tweeted.
Taking to twitter, Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “Happy birthday to Former Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh Ji. I wish him good health and happiness and pray for his long life.”
On the occasion, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called the former PM “fearless” and “brilliant”.
“Happy Birthday to Dr Manmohan Singh Ji. He is fearless and brilliant with a great understanding of the issues of our country has been facing. There is much to learn from him,” Gandhi wrote in a social media post.
He wished good health to the veteran party leader.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal has also extended his warm wishes to Singh.
“Birthday greetings to former PM Shri Manmohan Singh ji. I pray for your long and healthy life,’ Kejriwal tweeted.
Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray also took to twitter and wished the former PM.
“Wishing you a very happy birthday respected Dr Manmohan Singh Ji,” he wrote.(UNI)
