New Delhi, Oct 27 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Today approved reconstitution of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) continuing Bibek Debroy as Chairman of the panel.

“Dr Bibek Debroy as Chairman, EAC-PM shall be entitled to the same status, pay and allowances, terms and conditions as were previously admissible to him as Chairman, EAC-PM,” an office communication from Cabinet secretariat said.

The six part-time members of the EAC-PM include Rakesh Mohan, Sajid Chenoy, Neelkanth Mishra, Nilesh Shah, TT Ram Mohan and Poonam Gupta.

Part time members of EAC-PM may be paid sitting fee of Rs 10,000 per day of sitting, the office communication said.

As per the terms of reference, the Council would analyse any issue, economic or otherwise referred to it by the Prime Minister and address issues of macroeconomic importance.(UNI)
