Alappuzha, May 20 : Chief Minister-designate Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister-designates of CPI-M and CPI paid floral tributes to the martyrs of Punnapra-Vayalar Today.

Mr Vijayan and and the Minister designates visited both the memorials here and paid tributes to martyrs ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new LDF Cabinet slated to be held at 1530 hours.

The memorials was built to honour the Communists killed during their movement against the ‘rule’ of Sir C P Ramaswami Iyer, the Prime Minister of erstwhile Princely state of Travancore in 1946.

Now, the memorials is jointly maintained by the CPI(M) and CPI.(UNI)
