People must be partners in police efforts for common good: Telangana DGP

Hyderabad, May 27: Telangana State Director General of Police (DGP), M. Mahender Reddy, Today said that the inter-state borders are closed except for the permitted vehicular traffic during the lockdown.
Mr Reddy while interacting with the media persons during a tour at Kandlakoya near here, said, we have been successful in curtaining vehicular traffic between places during the lockdown.
People must be partners in police efforts for common good, Mr. M. Mahender Reddy, DGP said Police are working very hard in different shifts, day and night and ensuring the strict implementation of lockdown rules.
Mr. Reddy interacted with the Police and took stock of the situation at the ground level.
Cyberabad police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, who accompanied the DGP , later toured Suchitra and Kompally.
Talking to the media , he said barring a few stray incidents of violations the sixteen days of lockdown passed off very peacefully.
People are voluntarily observing lockdown with their self-imposed restrictions and controls which is a really good thing this time. No amount of policing will work without the cooperation of the people, Sajjanar said.
5000 police personnel are deployed for implementation of the Lockdown strictly,Sajjanar informed.
The cases are on decline and we must continue to carry forward the remaining days of lockdown in our own interest, he added.(UNI)
