‘Patrakar Bhusan Award’ presented by Maharashtra Governor
Mumbai, Jan 27 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the ‘Patrakar Bhusan Award’ to various journalist from the state at a felicitation function held at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday. The Governor also presented various awards instituted by the Maharashtra Gramin Patrakar Sangh on the occasion. According to an official release here, Mangesh Deshpande-Dongrajkar, editor of Ekmat, was presented the Darpankar Balshastri Jambhekar Smruti Puraskar. While, journalists Ajit Mandke, Lokmat, Rahul Kshirsagar, Sakal, and Umesh Tare, Jivadani Times, were given the Patrakar Bhushan Awards. Bhagwanrao Deshmukh of Vasmat in Hingoli district, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Governor also presented the Sahitya Ratna, Adarsh Prashasak, Udyog Shri, Samaj Bhushan, Kamgar Ratna, Vaidyakiya Seva, Krishi Ratna and Shikshak Ratna Puraskars on the occasion. Women administrators — Dr Padmashri Benade and assistant Municipal commissioner Kalpita Pimpale — were given the Adarsh Prashasak Awards. Member of State Legislature Sanjay Kelkar, president of the Maharashtra Gramin Patrakar Sangh, Eknath Birwatkar, vice president, Shankar Rahane, secretary.
