Over 30 Taliban militants eliminated in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province

Kabul, April  8 (Sputnik), Rahimullah Khogany – The Afghan military has carried out special operations against the Taliban in the southern province of Kandahar, eliminating over two dozen militants, the country’s defense ministry said in a statement.
The operations were conducted in the districts of Arghandab, Zhari, Shah Wali Koton, and Maywand on Wednesday, by the defense and security forces with the support of the air force.
“As a result of these operations, 31 Taliban were killed and 19 others were wounded,” the defense ministry said, adding that the militants’ weaponry and ammunition were also destroyed.
Earlier this week, more than 100 Taliban militants were eliminated during special operations carried out in ten Afghan provinces, including Kandahar. The army also discovered and diffused 168 improvised explosive devices placed by the Taliban on public roads across the country. (UNI)
