Over 1,800 entries received in M’rashtra Startup Week: Minister
Mumbai, Jun 27 : The Maharashtra Startup Week, organized by Maharashtra Innovation Society under the Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department of the state government, has received a good response with over 1,800 startups from across the country having registered for this event, said Skill Development Minister Nawab Malik Today.
Total 1,846 applications that have been received from 27 states, including 947 from Maharashtra, presented new concepts in various fields. Among them 320 are related to health, 252 about agriculture and 238 related to education, he informed in a press statement.
These applications will now be scrutinized by experts and the list of top 100 startups will be released in the last week of July, he said.
The objective of the Week is to promote innovation among the youth and boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the country, he said and pointed that top 100 startups will have the opportunity to present their ideas to investors, experts and senior government officials between August 9 and 13.
The winning 24 startups will be ordered by the Maharashtra government to use their innovations in the relevant departments of the government at a cost of Rs 15 lakh each, added Mr Malik.(UNI)
