Operation Akarsh: In the midst of the switchover buzz, four BRS MLAs meet Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy.

HYDERABAD JAN  24        : Four lawmakers from the pink party met chief minister A Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence on Tuesday, hours after roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said 30 BRS MLAs may join Congress after Lok Sabha elections. This meeting sparked rumors that the grand old party launched “operation akarsh” in an attempt to increase its majority in the assembly.

With 64 MLAs, Congress now has four more members than the necessary 60 for a majority in the assembly. CPI, a party ally, was awarded a seat. Revanth may have warned Congress that poaching opposition MLAs would damage the party’s reputation and may take time to resolve, but sources could not completely rule out the prospect that the ruling party would reimburse BRS with its own When the Congress Legislature Party united with the TRSLP in June 2019, the then-chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, was accused of stealing the votes of 12 of the 18 Congress MLAs.

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy (Dubbak), V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy (Narsapur), G Mahipal Reddy (Patancheru), and K Manik Rao (Zahirabad) are among the BRS MLAs who met Revanth. Even though they described it as a courtesy call and asked the chief minister to release funds generously for the development of their constituencies, the talk in political circles was that, considering the Congress’s attempt to solidify its position ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, “the meeting was more than a courtesy call.”

It was believed that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s statement, which stated that thirty BRS legislators were in contact with Congress and would join the historic party following the Lok Sabha elections, was meant as a rebuttal to former energy minister G Jagadish Reddy’s assertion that the new Congress government would soon come to an end.

Prabhakar Reddy led the team of four legislators, sources told TOI. They had gone to meet with an additional DG, a senior police officer, to request an improvement in security and protocol vehicles.

“Kotha Prabhakar Reddy managed to get Revanth appointed. According to a person close to the MLAs, “the three other legislators asked the CM to direct police to ensure protocol is followed and requested funds for their constituencies orally while the Dubbak MLA filed a representation.”

They were all BRS employees, according to Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, and there was nothing further to infer from their discussion with the CM. She explained, “It was just a courtesy call and we urged him Manik Rao, too, stuck to her guns, saying that too much was being interpreted out of the discussion. It was not at all planned. He declared, “We are not going anywhere.”

However, congressional sources suggested that this might only be the beginning. If Prabhakar Reddy joins the Congress, he could be given consideration for the Medak Lok Sabha constituency.for constituency development.”
