Omron Healthcare to expand its footprint in tier-II, III cities in Telangana
Hyderabad, Mar 5 : Medical device maker Omron Healthcare India, a global leader in digital blood pressure monitoring domain, on Friday said it plans to expand its footprint in Tier-II and III cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by expanding stores in these states to 1000 from 700 this year end.
Our vision to strengthen the availability and practice of home healthcare monitoring to help create a ‘Zero Events’ society ( no incidence of heart attack and brains strokes via provision of quality medical devices to Indian Society like digital blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, thermometers, nerve stimulators, body fat monitors, weighing scales ), said Masanori Matsubara, Managing Director, Omron Healthcare India, at a press conference here.
Currently, we have five home healthcare products including Blood Pressure and nebulizer, he said the company had already established the first ever experienced Centre in Hyderabad and third in the country after Gurgaon and Mumbai and we are also planning to set up similar centres in Bangalore and Chennai and in other cities by end of FY21.
With the expansion, Omron expected to register Rs 221 crore turnover in the country in the fiscal 2021-22 as against Rs 200 crore in FY20, Mr Masanori said that in Hyderabad, our market share in the digital blood pressure monitoring device) segment was 44 percent in FY20 Q3 against National average of 54 per cent.
South India contributes to almost 30 per cent of Omron’s total sales which they plan to escalate to 40 percent in FY 2021-22, he said.
Currently, we have 12,000 stores across the country and it will scale up to over 14,000 by the end of March, 2022, he added.
To a question, he said that discussions are going on with the various state governments to set up its medical devices manufacturing plant in India.
