Official cache of “corrupt” Telangana Rera: 70 acres, Rs 40 lakh in cash, and expensive watches
HYDERABAD JAN 25 : On Wednesday, Anti-Corruption Bureau investigators apprehended a high-ranking government official who was purportedly in possession of assets valued at many crores of rupees. According to ACB joint director YVS Sudheendra, 17 locations connected to the former HMDA official were searched concurrently by 14 special teams. These locations included his Puppalguda mansion, his relatives’ homes in Ghatkesar, as well as other locations in the city and Warangal.
“We carried out the searches in response to severe charges against the accused official and discovered disproportionate assets with a documented worth of ₹5 crore. The market worth of these assets would be roughly ₹20 crore,” Sudheendra said.
According to ACB officials, Balakrishna was employed by HMDA from 2018 to 2023. The joint director stated, “There were accusations of corruption against him when he was in HMDA.”
