Odisha reports 509 covid cases in past 24 hours
Bhubaneswar, July 12 : The daily covid positive cases in Odisha have shown a declining trend in the past few days but continued to register over 500 mark for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday.
Information and Public Relations Department sources said the state reported 509 fresh cases during the last 24 hours, 63 cases less than the figure on Sunday.
While the total tally of Covid positive cases in the state rose to 12,94,585, the active cases in the state now stood at 3539.
Out of the total 509 cases, 299 cases were recorded from quarantine centres, and 210 as contact cases. Khordha district reported 200 cases, the highest in the state followed by Cuttack (110), Sundergarh (49) Puri (14) and Jajpur (10)
Official reports said fresh positive cases were reported from 25 districts from 14,618 sample tests registering 3.48 percent Test Positive Report (TPR) .
Three districts such as Khordha, Sundargarh and Cuttack however remained in Red Zone with
test positivity rate of 11.5 percent, 8.7 percent and 8.6 percent respectively while Puri and Boudh districts having TPR above 5 percent have been categorised as Yellow Zone.(UNI)
