Mumbai, Aug 2: Eminent film critic Rashid Irani, a much-loved figure in the cinema circles of the city, was found dead today at his residence here.

He was 74, and a very senior member of Mumbai Press Club, sources said.

Not being seen for the last 2-3 days, a search by his friends, along with Club officials and police, led to his home, where he was found dead.

It is believed that Mr. Irani passed away probably on Thursday or Friday night, at home.

He was one of the pillars of the Press Club Film Society, who did not miss a day at the media center writing his reviews and watching films.

He will be missed sorely by all the Club members and staff. (UNI)
