Mumbai, Jan 01 : Maharashtra health Minister Rajesh Tope said Today  that doubling of Covid-19 cases in two-days is a cause of concern for the state government, and if corona cases continue increasing in the next couple of days, there is no alternative to a lock down.

Mr Tope said that yesterday 5368 cases were recorded in the state while 22 deaths too were recorded, the figure is likely to rise to 12,000 today, he said.

The state government has already issued fresh guidelines, prohibiting visits to Beaches, mall entry has been confined to 50% of the total capacity, same provisions are applied for hotels and restaurants. Restrictions under section 144 of Indian Penal code (IPC) ban more than five people to gather in city, he added.(UNI)
