Nine I.T. officers were detained by the CBI for entering the department without taking the required exams.
Nagpur, Dec 13 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested nine Income Tax(I-T) officers in Maharashtra’s Nagpur for allegedly joining the department without appearing for the mandatory examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission, sources said on Tuesday.
According to the sources the CBI sleuth arrested nine I-T officials as the latter
had joined the department without appearing for the Staff Selection Commission Exams.
The matter came fore in 2018 and an offence was registered in this regard.
Subsequently, a probe was initiated following which the CBI identified those officials and arrested them on Monday, said the sources.
The arrested officials identified as Rinki Yadav, Anil Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Abhay Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Pradeep Kumar and Manish Kumar, said the sources.
They were booked under sections 120B r/W/416,417,420,464,465,468 and 471 of IPC and sec 13(2) Wr/13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988, sources added.(UNI)
