Night curfew will be imposed if COVID restrictions did not yield desired results: TN Govt
Chennai, April 9: The Tamil Nadu government Today warned that a night curfew will be imposed if the fresh restrictions that will come into force from tomorrow did not yield the desired results in controlling the second wave of the COVID spread.
An official release here said the lockdown has already been extended till April 30 and due to the steps were taken by the government 95.55 percent of people infected by the virus were treated and the mortality rate was only 1.41 percent.
Pointing out to the restrictions announced yesterday which will come into force from tomorrow, the release said if this measure did not yield the desired result, the government will be constrained to impose night curfew with additional restrictions.
The release also appealed to the public to extend their full cooperation
to the measures taken by the government in tackling the second wave
of the COVID pandemic. (UNI)
