Puducherry, Nov 21 : Union Territory of Puducherry has recorded 32 fresh Covid-19 cases, 11 less than the previous day, and one death in the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM,Today.

With this, the Coronavirus infection tally rose to 1,28,663 and death toll to 1,870.

The lone death was reported in Puducherry region of the UT.

According to the Covid-19 status released by the health department here, of the 2,099 swab sample tests conducted on Saturday, the test reports of 32 persons came out positive.

About 11 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 17 in Karaikal region and two each in Yanam and Mahe regions.

In the last 24 hours, 25 persons were discharged and six of them were from Puducherry region,15 from Karaikal region and four from Mahe region.

Presently, 47 patients were being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region,13 in Karaikal region and five each in Yanam and Mahe regions.

Another 253 persons tested positive for Covid were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the Union Territory.

So far, 1,28,663 persons are infected by Coronavirus, of which 1,26,470 patients were treated and discharged, 1,870 people died and there are 323 active cases in the UT now.

The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.52 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.30 per cent.

As many as 11,75,748 doses of Covid vaccine were administered so far to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the general public in the Union Territory.(UNI)
