NCBC holds Symposium on the occasion of completion of two years
Hyderabad, Sep 26 : National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) today held a Symposium on “Constitution of India-OBC Reservations” on the occasion of completion of two years of NCBC.
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Tourism, Culture & Development of North eastern Region of India G Kishan Reddy, NCBC Chairman Dr Bhagwan, Lal Sahani, NCBC Member Acharya Thalloju, different OBC community and among others have participated in the programme.
In her chief guest address, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan who began her speech in Telugu and continued in English congratulated NCBC for completing two years and resolving several problems of OBCs during the last two years.
While quoting the strong gathering, she said that it proves how NCBC is functioning. It also gave confidence and hope to the NCBC. The Governor expressed her wish to move forward further by strengthening NCBC.
Expressing his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi who granted constitutional rights to the NCBC, the Governor congratulated NCBC for bringing a comprehensive Report of 2019-2021 “Findings & Observations”.
Recalling the constitution of NCBC and efforts of the Prime Minister for granting constitutional right to it, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan appreciated the NCBCs efforts in providing OBC reservations in universities, NEET and other areas in the country.
Mr Dattatreya said that Indian Constitution architect Dr B R Ambedkar had granted reservations to Scheduled Cast (SC) and Scheduled Tribes for their upliftment. The Mandal Commission had granted 27 per cent reservations to OBC in the employment and education sectors. But not implementing it fully, he said.(UNI)
