Naxal slain in Chhattisgarh.
Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), Mar 2 : A Maoist who carried a reward of Rs 3 lakh has been eliminated during a heavy exchange of fire between rebels and a District Reserve Guard detachment following an ambush within Tumakpal-Arjalpara forest in Katekalyan Police Station limits of this district in Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division. “A force was dispatched after a tip-off regarding the presence of 10 to 15 armed ultras – owing allegiance to the Katekalyan Area Committee – in the hills. The militant killed in the intervening night’s encounter was identified as Lakhma Kawasi who owed allegiance to the Darbha Division’s Platoon Number 31. He resided at Kodopal. A countrymade pistol, a 5-kg IED, an ultra uniform, wire, insurgent literature and items of daily use were seized,” Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said on Wednesday. (UNI)
