National Workshop on AI Financial Empowerment is opened by Mizoram Governor

AIZAWL, MAY 10 :   Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Thursday emphasised the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in technology and elaborated on its capacity to enhance the standard of living, accelerate economic growth, and empower consumers through streamlined business processes
Kambhampati was addressing the inaugural session of the National Level Workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence-based Financial Empowerment for Mizoram” organised by the Mizoram University (MZU) here.
The governor commended the pragmatic approach of AI-based initiatives in Financial Technology undertaken by MZU and NIT Mizoram, and expressed his gratitude to NM-ICPS, DST for their funding support facilitated through IBITF, IIT Bhilai.
He also praised the innovative efforts of the Project Investigators and Co-Project Investigators under the auspices of MZU and NIT administrations respectively.
Under the guidance of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) has allocated funding to IIT Bhilai to establish the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH). Currently, IIT Bhilai has approved and funded six projects from Mizoram University and five from NIT Mizoram focusing on Financial Technology.
The inaugural session featured a presentation and discussion on one of MZU’s projects titled “Sustainable Smart Parking Solution for Aizawl City,” led by PI: Dr. Morrel VL Nunsanga, along with Co-PIs: Dr. Rakesh Matam, Dr. R. Lalchhanhima, and Smt. Vanlalmuansangi Khenglawt. Subsequent technical sessions will showcase, review, and deliberate on all six projects initiated by MZU. (UNI)
