Nashik reports 10 COVID deaths, trend of over 2k new cases continues
Nashik, Mar 22 :In the past 24 hours, Nashik recorded 10 COVID fatalities while over 2,000 new cases were detected for fifth consecutive day, official data said on Monday.
The last double digit deaths in a single day were reported in October 2020, data told, adding that the caseload has surged to 1,48,138 after 2,360 new patients were found on Sunday.
Of the new cases, the highest 1,281 are from the municipal limits followed by rural parts (878), Malegaon city (128) and district non-native category (73).
The city areas have the highest concentration of the patients as people from district interiors as well as northern Maharashtra are flocking here for treatment.
Meanwhile, 676 people were cured and discharged, taking the count of recovered cases to 1,29,002.
Till now, Nashik has tallied 2,220 deaths while 16,916 cases are under treatment, the data added.(UNI)
