NABARD Goa RO scales new heights in the financial year 2020-21

Panaji, April 11:  During the financial year 2020-21, Goa Regional Office has registered stellar performance both in business areas and the developmental front.

Achievement of sanction and disbursement under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) was Rs 344 crore and Rs 250 crore as against a target of Rs 65 crore and 150 crores respectively. Similarly, under NABARD NIDA (NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance), RO sanctioned Rs 64.87 Crore and disbursed Rs 21.77 crore. Refinance window for Goa StCB was opened after a gap of almost 25 years with the disbursement of Rs 20 crore and Rs 5.25 crore under Short Term-Others and Short Term-Seasonal Agricultural Operations, respectively. Besides this, funding under the Long Term Irrigation Fund and Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund is in the final stages of sanction. An amount of Rs 3.8 crore was released as Central Government grant assistance for Tillari Irrigation Project.

The efforts in the developmental front were evident with the presence of rural marts across Goa, support for Geographical tagging of local produce namely Kunbi weaving, Mankura mango, Bebinca, and skill training to the rural populace and setting up of Rural Haat, which is in its final stage.

On the institutional development front, the Board of Directors of Goa StCB was trained on Corporate Governance during the year. The government of Goa has committed to bringing in an adequate share of funding for PACS computerization in the state. Besides this, NABARD’s proactive supervision, dedicated efforts, and strategic approach have resulted in Goa StCB improving its financials in terms of profit, CRAR, etc.
