Pyongyang, Jan 6 : North Korea Today  said it had successfully conducted a test-firing of a hypersonic missile the previous day.
According to Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the missile had made a “120 km lateral movement” from the initial launch azimuth and “precisely hit a set target 700 km away.”
On Wednesday, South Korea military said the North had fired what appeared to be a ballistic missile toward the East Sea from the northern province of Jagang, Yonhap reported.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un did not attend the firing.
This came days after the leader, in his New Year speech, said Pyongyang would continue to strengthen its defence capabilities amid an increasingly unstable military environment on the Korean peninsula.(UNI)
