HYDERABAD, AUG 24 :  The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) demolished the N Convention Centre in Madhapur on Saturday.

The structure, built by film actor Nagarjuna and others, was found to be encroaching on the Tummididi Pond (Tank).

Following a complaint that the N Convention Centre had been constructed on three and a half acres of land encroaching on the Tummididi Pond, HYDRA intervened and carried out the demolition under heavy police security.

A few days ago, HYDRA Commissioner A V Ranganathan made a significant statement regarding illegal construction. He announced plans to reclaim ponds and demolish all illegally constructed buildings.

Acting on this directive, HYDRA received a complaint about the encroachment of the Tummididi Pond in Madhapur, leading to the demolition of the N Convention Centre this morning.(UNI)
