Mukta Tilak, a BJP MLA, is remembered by Fadnavis.
PUNE, DEC 23 : Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid his last respects to MLA Mukta Tilak at Kesariwada here on Friday.
State Higher and Technical Education Minister and District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil, Rural Development Minister Girish Mahajan, Maharashtra State Commission for Women Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, MLA Pravin Darekar, Madhuri Misal, Former Minister Vijay Shivtare, Former Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Pune City Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh and others were present.
Expressing his condolences, Mr. Fadnavis said, this is a very sad day for all of us. Muktatai is known as a very combative personality on the entire socio-political spectrum of Pune. She was associated with the public as a corporator, mayor and MLA.
“Tilak was able to manage the legacy of the family. As a devoted worker of Bharatiya Janata Party for the past thirty years, she rose from a common worker to various positions on the strength of her hard work and public relations,” he added.
“Muktatai was inventive, a good speaker. She came to vote during the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections even though her health was not good. Though we had requested not to travel due to her ill health,” he recalled.
Fadnavis paid his tribute saying that the departure of such dedicated leadership, workers is an irreparable loss to the party and the society.
He also met the Tilak family and consoled them. Shailesh Tilak, Kunal Tilak, Shrutika Tilak, Chaitrali Tilak-Bhagwat, Harshad Bhagwat, Rohit Tilak, Deepak Tilak, Praniti Tilak were present on this occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister also met MP Girish Bapat at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital and inquired about his health. On this occasion, he said MP Bapat’s condition is improving and he will recover soon and return home.(UNI)
