Kannur, Jul 4: In a gruesome incident, a mother strangled her 9-year-old daughter to death at their house at Chalad in this district Today.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Avanthika (9), the daughter of Rajesh and Vahidha.
Police arrested Vahidha following the complaint of Rajesh. It is reported that vahidha is having some mental health issues.
The incident happened in the morning following an altercation between the parents.
After the altercation, Rajesh left the house. When he returned home after some time, the door of the house was found locked.
He forcibly opened the door with the help of nearby residents and found that the child was lying in an unconscious state.
Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital, her life could not be saved. (UNI)
