Mirwaiz Farooq laments the death of the Iranian President in a helicopter accident.

SRINAGAR, MAY 20 : Muslim cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday expressed grief and sorrow over the helicopter crash in which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian, regional governor Malik Rahmati, and others died.

Mirwaiz Farooq, who has been placed under house arrest since May 3, expressed condolences over the Iranian President’s demise in a helicopter crash.

He described the accidental death of President Ebrahim Raisi as an irreparable loss for the Muslim world, particularly for the nation of Iran.

In a condolence message, Mirwaiz “assured the government of Iran and its citizens that they share their grief and sorrow during these trying times”.

The Muslim Cleric prayed to Allah Almighty for the forgiveness of the deceased and for patience, courage and perseverance for the Iranian people.(UNI)
