Minister denies in Assembly over no proper maintenance in government schools in Telangana
Hyderabad, Oct 5 : Telangana Education Minister Ms Sabitha Indra Reddy today informed the Assembly that it is not a fact that there is no proper maintenance in Government schools in the state.
Replying to a question raised by the member of the house during the question hour, Ms Sabitha said that there is also no fact that Head Masters, teachers and staff are spending their own money for the maintenance of washrooms, black boards and among others.
The Minister said that the government had allocated Rs 38 crore in 2017-18, Rs 49 crore in 2018-19, Rs 46 crore in 2019-20 and Rs 80 crore in 2021-22 for the maintenance of the schools.
Moreover, the state government has assigned the maintenance of government schools to Gram Panchayats under the new Panchayat Raj Act, the Minister added.(UNI)
