Met department expects heavy rain in UP as 4 people are killed in incidents connected to the weather
Lucknow, July 13 :While the Met department has predicted heavy to very rainfall along with thundershowers in several parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next three days at least four persons were killed in rain related incidents in the state on Thursday.According to the Met department there is possibility of thundershower in several districts of the state, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Rajiv Das Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Balia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar and Maharajganj.Similar weather conditions may prevail in Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and adjoining areas.It has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and adjoining areas. Besides, heavy rain is likely to occur in Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Kasganj, Jaunpur and its surrounding areas.Meanwhile, at least four persons were killed in rain related incidents in UP. Reports said that a 50-year-old farmer Ram Bhawan alias Bhatu was killed after being hit by lightning in Walterganj area of Basti district on Thursday.As per the report two women, identified as Maukla and Saiduna were killed after being hit by lightning in Sirsiya area of Bahraich district. A teenager Shivam (17) died after being hit by lightning in Mehndawal area of Sant Kabir Nagar district.Heavy rain has led to suspension of train services and have also been affected in some parts of the state. Report said that train traffic on the Haridwar-Dehradun section has been suspended due to heavy rain and landslides.Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SDCM) of Moradabad division Sudhir Singh said that train traffic on Haridwar-Dehradun was suspended at 4 am on Thursday due to a landslide in Motichoor area of Haridwar.
