SRINAGAR, DEC 13 : Kashmir valley experiencing sub zero temperature again due to clear sky while ski resort of Gulmarg was the coldest place with minus 5.5 degree Celsius on Tuesday.
The Meteorological Department forecast of partly Cloudy and dry weather is expected till December 21 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pleasant weather conditions prevailed with bright sun appearing in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley on Tuesday even people seen basking under it at many places.
Srinagar had a low of minus 2.2 degree Celsius on Tuesday while the maximum temperature was 13.0 degree Celsius which was 3.5 degree Celsius above normal during this time of the year.
The ski resort of Gulmarg was the coldest place in Kashmir valley on Tuesday with minimum temperature recorded as minus 5.5 degree Celsius which was 1.3 degree Celsius below normal while the maximum temperature also dipped to 4.4 degree Celsius still minus 0.4 degree below normal during this time of the year for the valley of meadow in north Kashmir.
Tourist hot spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir had a low of minus 3.0 degree Celsius while the maximum was recorded at 9.4 degree Celsius which was 2.3 degree Celsius above normal on Tuesday.
Qazigund had a low of minus 2.2 degree Celsius, Kukernag minus 0.4 and the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara settled at minus 1.7 degree Celsius on Tuesday, the MeT office said.(UNI)
