Aurangabad, Oct 05 :Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 73 new cases of COVID-19 and 3 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported the highest 15 new cases and 2 deaths, followed by Beed which had 17 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 31 cases, Latur had 5 cases, Parbhani had 3 cases and Jalna had 2 cases .

While,in Nanded and Hingoli district no one Covid positive case was recorded , they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,026 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,62,514.

The state also registered 26 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,39,233.

Meanwhile, highest 5,389 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,86,061 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.31per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 33,637 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
