Marathwada registers 407 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths

Aurangabad, Jul 1 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 407 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Jalna reported the highest 14 new cases and six deaths, followed by Beed which had 173 cases and 5 deaths, Nanded had 9 cases and 2 deaths, Aurangabad had 90 cases and single death, Parbhani had 19 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 66 cases, Latur recorded 35 cases and Hingoli district recorded only one case.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 9,771 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total number of infections in the state to 60,61,494.

The state also registered 141 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,21,945.

Meanwhile, a total of 8,623 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,09,548.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96.2 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.

At present there are 1,16,369 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
