Marathwada registers 382 Covid-19 cases, 12 fatalities

Aurangabad, Aug 1: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra registered 382 new COVID-19 cases and 12 fatalities during the past 24 hours, informed health authorities Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed district was worst-affected as it recorded 198 new cases and 5 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 35 cases and 5 deaths, Osmanabad had 100 cases and 2 deaths, Latur had 28 new cases, Jalna recorded 12 cases, Nanded had 5 cases, Hingoli had 3 cases and Parbhani registered an only single case.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 6,959 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 63,03,715.

The state also registered 225 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,32,791.

Meanwhile, a record 7,467 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 60,90,786.

The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 96.62 per cent and the fatality rate is 2.1 per cent.

At present, there are 76,755 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.(UNI)
