Marathwada registers 295 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths

Aurangabad, Jul 7 : Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 295 new cases of COVID-19 and five fatalities during the past 24 hrs, health authorities said Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest 132 new cases and 2 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 43 cases and single death, Latur had 14 cases and single death, Jalna recorded 11 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 75 cases, Parbhani had 10 cases, Nanded had 9 cases and Hongoli single case.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 8418 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative number of infections in the state to 61,13,335.

The state also registered 171 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,23,531.

Meanwhile, 10548 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,72,228.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96.01 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.

At present there are 1,14,287 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
