Marathwada registers 290 nCoV cases, 10 deaths

Aurangabad, Jul 4 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 290 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 fatalities in the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest number of covid cases with 120 infections and 3 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which reported 40 cases and 3 deaths, Jalna, on the other hand had 15 cases and 3 deaths, Osmanabad — 52 cases and single death, Latur — 30 cases, Parbhani — 17 cases, Nanded — 14 cases and Hingoli district — 2 cases.

During the same time, Maharashtra recorded 9,489 coronavirus cases and 153 deaths, taking the cumulative number of infections and deaths to 60,88,841 and 1,22,675, respectively, in the state.

On the recovery front, a total of 8,395 patients recovered in the state since Saturday, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,45,315. The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.

At present there are 1,17,675 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
