Marathwada registers 1,907 Covid-19 cases, 65 fatalities
Aurangabad, May 28 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra registered 1,967 new cases of COVID-19 and 65 fatalities during the past 24 hours, informed health authorities Today.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Latur district was worst-affected as it recorded 193 new cases and 22 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 299 cases and 12 deaths, Beed had 603 new cases and 8 deaths, Osmanabad 356 cases and 8 deaths ,Hingoli recorded 85 cases and 5 deaths,Nanded had 201 cases and 3 deaths, Parbhani registered 122 cases and 3 deaths and Jalna 85 cases and 3 deaths .
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 21,273 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 56,72,180.
The state also registered 425 more deaths, taking the death toll to 92,225.
Meanwhile, 34,370 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 52,76,203.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 93.02 per cent and the fatality rate is 1.63 per cent.
At present, there are 3,01,041 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
Meanwhile, strict restrictions have been extended till May 31.(UNI)
