Marathwada region reports 4,210 fresh nCoV cases, 88 deaths

Aurangabad, Mar 31 :Eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region registered highest 88 deaths due to Covid pandemic during the past 24 hours which was highest so far since Covid inciption, health authorities informed here Today.

While 4210 fresh positive patients were also detected across the region during the same period,they said .

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad was the worst affected where the highest ie 1116 cases and 43 deaths were reported, followed by Nanded with 950 new cases and 20 deaths,Parbhani had 379 cases and nine deaths , Jalna registered 424 new cases and eight deaths, Latur had 557 cases and 5 deaths, Hingoli had 224 cases and two deaths, Beed had 318 cases and a single death and Osmanabad 242 cases.

Meanwhile ,during the past 24 hours total 27,918 fresh cases of COVID-19 were registered across in the state, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 27,73,423.

The state also registered 139 more deaths, taking the death toll to 54422.

Meanwhile, a total of 23,820 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 23,77,127 across the state.

The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 85.71 per cent and the fatality rate is 1.96 per cent.

At present there are 3,40,542 active patients across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, they added.(UNI)
