Marathwada region reports 2673 nCoV cases

Aurangabad, Mar 16 : Eight districts of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state reported 2673 fresh cases during the past 24 hours, and 18 more deaths, the health authorities informed, here on Tuesday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI shows that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was the worst affected with 1128 cases and five deaths, followed by Jalna with 452 new cases and 4 deaths, Beed registered 248 new cases and 3 deaths, Parbhani registered 147 new cases and a two deaths, Nanded registered 452 new cases and single death, Latur had 141 cases and single death, Hingoli had 91 cases and single death and Osmanabad recorded 52 cases and single death.

In the wake of resurgence in coronavirus cases across the region, respective districts administration has taken some measures to break out the chain of virus, like partial lockdown, Jantha curfew and other restrictions were announced last week.

As per official data, 15,051 cases which was highest in recent days and 48 more deaths were reported across Maharashtra, taking the state’s cumulative tally to 23,29,464 and the death toll to 52,909.

On the other hand, 10,671 patients were discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall number of recoveries to 21,44,743.

There are currently 1,30,547 active cases that are undergoing treatment across the state.

The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 92.07 per cent and death rate stands at 2.27 percent, the health department informed.(UNI)
